Atrial fibrillation is an abnormal heart rhythm that is very common. It becomes more common in the elderly population. On top of that over 25% patients with AF have no symptoms. However, AF increases your risk of stroke by five times. Dr Jaspal Taggar of the University of Nottingham, UK, studies how AF is diagnosed, and shares his views on how to improve AF diagnosis.
