In recent weeks, hand, foot and mouth disease cases have risen sharply nationwide, exceeding warning levels in almost all states. Over 35,000 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease have been reported since the beginning of this year, leading to the closure of 469 premises, including nurseries, preschools, kindergartens and two schools. We get an update from Datuk Dr Chong Chee Keong, Deputy Director-General (Health), Ministry of Health.
