Minister of Health Khairy Jamaluddin has said that the Tobacco and Smoking Control Bill will be tabled in the current Parliamentary session, which will sit until 4th August. One of the most hotly debated provisions in the proposed legislation is the generational ban on smoking and vaping, which prohibits the sale of cigarettes, tobacco, and vape to anyone born on or after January 1, 2005.
