Earlier this year the Malaysian Housing and Local Government Minister confirmed that her ministry has targeted for one Waste To Energy plant to be built in every state by the end of 2020. However from 2013 to 2016, 4 incinerators were built in Malaysia and all four failed, which makes for an abysmal track record. YB Ronnie Liu and Dr Tan Ching Seong from the Gabungan Anti Incinerator Kebangsaan speak to us about the implications of building a further 14 incinerators both from an environmental and policy perspective.
