Fortify Rights, a non-profit human rights organization based in Bangkok, recently released a report documenting how students’ political participation in public universities have been stifled for almost 50 years. The report is titled “No Politics on Campus” and focuses on the chilling effects of the Universities and University Colleges Act 1971 on student activism. Lead author Henry Koh shares why he decided to focus his attention on campus politics two years ago and the unique opportunity for wholesale reforms that Pakatan Harapan’s victory presents.
