Professor Ebrahim Moosa teaches at the University of Notre Dame’s Keough School of Global Affairs and the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies. His most recent book is “What is a Madrasa,” which looks at the history of ideas and politics in the Madrasa system. He spoke to us about the influence of Maulana Maudoodi on both Al Qaeda and the Islamic State, as well as his thoughts on why Tunisia succeeded where Egypt failed.
