In a landmark decision last month, the Court of Appeal ruled that a Syariah law in Negeri Sembilan which criminalises any man who dresses as a woman unconstitutional. We speak to psychologist Vizla Kumaresan, about the role gender identity disorder played in the ruling, and Aston Paiva, a lawyer who represented the three hairdressers who brought the case, about how this decision will impact the transgender community going forward.
