Law & Behold is a series aimed at improving constitutional literacy among Malaysians, done in collaboration with The Malaysian Bar and the University of Malaya's Faculty of Law. In our fifth episode of the series, we’ll be looking at gender equality and specifically discrimination against women, through the lenses of both the Federal Constitution of Malaysia, as well as the Women’s Convention. We speak to Firdaus Husni, the Chief Human Rights Strategist at the Malaysian Centre for Constitutionalism and Human Rights, and Kee Hui Yee, a member of the Bar Council Constitutional Law Committee, to find out what has been done -- and what remains to be done -- when it comes to achieving gender equality in Malaysia.
