Palestinian Prisoners Day is observed annually on April 17. This year, more than 1,000 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons begun a mass hunger strike to press for basic rights and to shed light on deplorable prison conditions - conditions which child prisoners are not spared from either. Norma Hashim, who is the editor of a new book called “Dreaming of Freedom: Palestinian Child Prisoners Speak,” talks about her book, explains why children are imprisoned, and tells us how interrogation techniques are used to intimidate and secure false confessions.
