It’s been slightly more than 10 years since the iconic BERSIH 2.0 rally that took place on the 9th of July 2011. Authorities fired tear gas and water cannons. Close to 1700 people were arrested. But it did not break the spirits of those who were protesting, who marched on nonetheless.
Today, in light of its 10th anniversary, we speak to activists Nalini Elumalai and Ivy Josiah, important figures in the Bersih 2.0 rally.
