The Relevance of Shakespeare Studies Today

2016 is the 400th death anniversary of William Shakespeare. Activities and performances commemorating the works of the Bard by universities, festivals and performance troupes have been going all year, including here in Malaysia. We speak to two Shakespeare scholars from Universiti Malaya’s English Department, who are themselves organizing a Shakespeare festival at the end of July, about why they think the works of Shakespeare endure.
