The proposal to degazette part of the Kuala Langat North Forest Reserve for a mixed development project has been soundly rejected, with stakeholders urging the state government to reconsider its plan to destroy this environmentally sensitive area, which is also home to many Orang Asli communities. We look at what went down in the public hearing on the matter, and discuss what happens next in this battle to protect this important forest.
