On November 23 2023, the Court of Appeal has ruled that vernacular schools are constitutional, dismissing the appeal of four NGOs, which sought to declare the usage of Chinese and Tamil languages as unconstitutional. We speak to Datuk Arthur Wang, one of the lawyers who represented Chung Hwa School in the case, about the legalities of this issue, and the final ruling.
