Malaysia’s Prisons Department aims to have 23,000 inmates serving lenient sentences undergo parole and the Community Rehabilitation Programme (CRP) by 2030. First, we discuss the value of community-based rehabilitation, and alternative modes of rehabilitation to prevent relapse. Then, we try to understand the struggles of finding employment for people with criminal records.
