The 2022 Edelman Trust Barometer report revealed that Malaysians' sense of trust in the government and public institutions has declined significantly since last year. Additionally, more Malaysians are growing wary of the media amid growing concern about fake news and disinformation. We analyse the perceptions that are driving these concerns and the consequences that this loss of trust may bring.
