Yesterday Chief Minister Adenan Satem announced that the Sarawak State Assembly will be dissolved on the 11th of April. He said he had an audience with Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud in morning. As CM Taib had held the position from 1981 to 2014. While It is up to the Election Commission to determine nomination and polling dates, Adenan had previously made public his preferred dates for Nomination Day (April 18) and for Polling Day ( April 30). Today we ask if the results of the Sarawak state elections are an adequate barometer for the mood of the nation? How the recent constituency delimitation exercise which added 11 news seats will effect electoral dynamics? And if Sarawakians are rallying behind Adenan’s state rights agenda.
