UK has the fourth highest number of Covid-19 cases in the world, not helped by Boris Johnson’s vague campaign tagline: “Stay Alert, Control The Virus". Pollster YouGov found that only 30% of voters understand the new slogan. As such, governments in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are pursuing their own policies. Patrick Diamond, Associate Professor of Public Policy, Queen Mary University of London helps us understand what is going on in the UK.
