Malaysia wants to review more than 3,000 outdated laws, some of which are pre-Merdeka, as they no longer address contemporary issues effectively. Maha Balakrishnan, a parliamentary researcher at the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, Sunway University, shares her views on how this exercise to modernise existing laws could be done by making the correct priorities based on issues.
