The Tokyo Olympics is in full swing, amidst protests with local public perception still very much against the Games. However, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshide Suga insists that the Olympics will serve as “proof that humanity has defeated the coronavirus” while IOC Chief Thomas Bach reiterates that the Olympics pose “zero” risk to the public. Is the choice to let the games go ahead an absurd decision or a show of sheer determination during these dark times?
