“Five for the Faithful” is a term coined by Badan Warisan Malaysia, to refer to a set of iconic religious institutions in KL that are nearby each other. They are Masjid Jamek, St. Mary’s Cathedral, Sin Sze Ya Temple, Sri Mahamariamman Temple, and the Historical Gurdwara Sahib Polis. These religious institutions play a huge role in not only providing a sanctuary for their respective communities, but also in elevating the areas around them. Elizabeth Cardosa joins us on the show to help unpack their roles and relationships with the overall community, then and now.
